Free Crossword Puzzle Maker is a simple and easy to use software designed for Windows platforms. It comes with a standard installer and it consumes very little memory. It allows you to select the words you want, along with descriptions for each of them. You can define up to 21 words for a single puzzle and each hint has a limit of 54 characters.

Once you’ve introduced your desired words, you can select from a large range of crosswords. The Free Crossword Puzzle Maker generates all the possible combinations and randomly displays one of them. A selected puzzle may or may not contain all of the words that you defined, and if you don’t like it, you can simply create a new one.

The crossword puzzle is shown on the left side of the screen, the right side being used for definitions. The cool thing about it is that, while viewing the puzzle, you can switch to editing the definitions of the words and when you return to the crosswords, the definitions are dynamically changed. You can choose to save the current puzzle as a picture, or even print it.
